DP World Tour Championship Betting Preview
This week is the final qualifying tournament to see who will be crowned the Race to Dubai winner. Dubai’s Jumeirah Golf Estates plays host to the DP World Tour Championship which starts this Thursday the 18th November 2018. Francesco Molinari has a commanding 1,000,000 plus Race to Dubai Points advantage over his next competitor Tommy Fleetwood. The two became known as Moliwood in defeating the Americans in the Ryder Cup earlier in September which Molinari claiming an extraordinary 5 points out of five. Fleetwood knows what it takes to win the RTD as he will look to win it in successive seasons.
Those chasing the big prize on the European Tour include newly crowned world number 1 Justin Rose and Rory Mcilroy who now sits at number 7. Rose is in excellent form still as he showed in winning the Turkish Airlines Open. He has proved a model of consistency which will see him right there come Sunday afternoon. Mcilroy on the other hand has had a mixed bag of results but has a win to his name when claiming the prestigious Arnold Palmer Invitational on the PGA Tour. it would be no surprise to see Rory do well this week as he will be keen to end the year on a high which will set him up for what we believe will be a dominant year in 2019.
These players are probably the ones that will fight it out for the tournament but who else could be a factor in winning the DP World Tour Championship. Well at the odds Shane Lowry represents value at 33/1 with Betfred who are paying out 6 places. He has shown some good form in recent events although he fell away last week in the Nedbank Golf Challenge won by Lee Westwood. We think he will have a big week and with the field limited to the top 60 players in the rankings the 6 places are offer look good. Speaking of Westwood we heartily congratulate him on gaining his first win since 2014 and what a way to do it with an 8 under 64 on the final round. He does like this part of the world and he too can be backed at odds of 33/1 with most bookmaker firms.
A player who could count himself unlucky last week is Ross Fisher who finished 4th to Westy despite a 9 and two further bogeys to finish one of his rounds. He is our longest odds tip at 50/1 with Boylesports with 6 places on offer. If you place a bet at Boylesports on the DP World Tour Championship pre-tournament and your selection finishes 2nd or 3rd they will refund your win stake as free bet up to max €/£20.
